Fall 2018 Trend Alert: Dark Florals
Floral prints are normally synonymous with spring but this season expect to see your favorite blooms hitting the streets. Designers like Miu Miu, Elie Saab, and Prada featured floral prints during their Fall ’18 runway shows but this season, it’s all about taking the feminine print and adding an edge. When I saw this dress, I knew I had to have it! I love that the dress has a floral print similar to your grandmother’s tablecloth, a midi length, high neck, and long sleeves making it seem pretty conservative but then has this metallic sequin accents and a high slit that just adds such a surprising cool factor the dress. I paired the dress with these silver boots to another rebellious element.
When shopping for floral pieces this fall, look for pieces that have darker shades and rich hues like navy, violet, mustard, and burgundy so it doesn’t look too soft and springy. Pair you florals with cool boots or layered with different prints to feel fresh and unexpected.
What I love about this trend is that floral prints look beautiful on every body shape. If you are a curvier woman like myself, stick to pieces that have a darker background and overall smaller prints. The dress I am wearing is available up to a size 26! I am also slightly obsessed with THIS JACKET that can be worn daily with jeans, trousers, and any top and THIS DRESS that snatches that waist and has a floral print alone the front in an hourglass shape!
