How to Layer: Fall Fashion 2018

To me, fall style is synonymous with layering.  I love taking my button downs and t-shirts and wearing them together, separate, underneath jackets, etc.  The key to layering is to have great bottoms that act as an anchor and foundation to any outfit.  I am such a denim girl and as the weather gets cooler, I wear grey and black jeans on the daily.  They go with everything and are so easy to dress up and down. A great pair of dark jeans can be worn casually with a t-shirt and jeans or dressed up with a blazer and heels, there really is no wrong.

When shopping for a pair of darker denim, there are 2 things I look for: 1, the fit and 2, the shade.

I love a mid to high rise denim because I think they are the most flattering on my body.  I also often like to tuck shirts in and think mid to high rise denim always looks best with shirts tucked in.  Also, I need stretch!!  I definitely dress for style, but I won’t leave the house if I am not comfortable and let’s be honest, denim with stretch in it is undeniably comfortable!!  When choosing a grey pair of denim I often opt for darker shades that almost look black.  I prefer this color because I think it’s easiest to dress up and goes with everything.  Plus, it’s extremely flattering.

Since I love colors, textures, and patterns I styled my go to Rockstar denim with a pink velvet tee, layered over a grey flannel and worn under a burgundy moto jacket.  The rich hues and textured fabrics shout fall and make me so excited for cooler weather.
