Denim: Fall Fashion 2018 Essential

September has always been my favorite month, especially for shopping. 

Back to school shopping was always a highlight for me, and now, even though I have been out of school for quite some time, I love finding new pieces to add to my wardrobe for fall.  My MUST HAVE fall essential is a great pair of denim!

I am wearing the Old Navy Secret-Slim Rockstar Jeans.  These jeans have innovative front pockets that create smooth lines and act as shapewear without the discomfort.  I love how they held in my stomach and also the high-waist hits at a PERFECT spot.  Old Navy continues to impress me with their size inclusivity.  They now offer plus sizes in over 75 stores across the country and as a woman who walks into stores and often struggles to find my size, I can’t tell you how liberating it is to go into a store that makes you feel welcome.  I am wearing a size 14 in these jeans, btw!

During the beginning of fall, I like to incorporate a lot of blues and whites and feminine details in my wardrobe, just to hold on to summer for a bit longer. I am wearing this ruffled striped top from Old Navy that is incredibly chic.  I bought it for my trip to Italy later this week and have already worn it twice!  I love that it looks cute untucked, tucked in, tied at the waist and even under a white denim jacket. I am wearing a size XL in the top!

Now let’s talk about white after Labor Day, shall we??!?!?!  Plead do not listen to that silly, silly rule, that you can’t wear white after Labor Day!  I am obsessed with my white denim jacket from Old Navy and have received a million compliments on it!  Everyone is shocked, thinking it’s a designer brand and costs $$$$ and when I say it’s from Old Navy the response is always, “WHAT?!?! I NEED IT!”  I’m like, “yes, yes you do.” Haha!  I am wearing a size XXL in the jacket.

I love this look because I think it’s a perfect transitional outfit from summer to fall.  I styled the look with gold hoops (my everyday essential) and red sandals to take me from a meeting to date night but I would also love this look with a pair of black Vans to edge it up a bit and make it even more casual.
