Summer Wedding Season is upon us! If you are anything like me or any of my clients, you probably have your summer weekends stacked with nuptial affairs. What to wear to a summer wedding is something my clients often struggle with but actually, it’s pretty simple.
Men: You need a nice lightweight, summer suit. Keep it light in both texture and color. Leave your dark suits at home and opt for a linen, cotton suit or wool-linen blend suit. You want something that breathes and is flexible. Summer weddings are often more casual, so unless you are attending a reception that states black tie, I think it’s the perfect opportunity to ditch you tie and rock a nice shirt slightly unbuttoned. I would also advise to try and find suit separates that way if you want, you can mix and match. A linen blazer can be worn all season long and dressed up for a wedding or dressed down with jeans.
Women: All you need is a flirty dress and a great pair of shoes. Leave your gowns behind and opt for a shorter dress that will show off those toned legs you’ve been working on! I also think wedges are the best shoes to wear to a wedding. If you can find a pair that is dressy enough your feet will thank you! It obviously depends on where you are going, but many summer weddings tend to be outdoors and nothing is worse than taking your beautiful shoes out for a night and then having their heels scuffed and destroyed from sinking into the grass. It’s not cute. I destroyed a pair of Jimmy Choo pythons and my life has never been the same since.
Cheers to fashion, seeing the world and always having fun!
