These photos were taken in Snug Harbor on Richmond Terrace in Staten Island.  The 83 acre Smithsonian Affiliate Cultural Center has great gardens, museums, theaters and activities for all ages.  Back in the 1800s Snug Harbor was a place for worn out sailors to rest but by the turn of the 20th century it became the richest charitable institution in the United States!  You can learn more about the Snug Habor’s rich history here. I cannot wait until the Chinese Scholar’s Garden opens!  Will let you know when it does.
