This was my second year at the Rise Festival and it did not disappoint. My sister and I took the trip out to the desert last year and enjoyed it so much that we both went back and brought our boyfriends with us. The lantern festival took place just about 35 miles north east of Las Vegas in the Mojave Desert and hosted 14,000 people. The lanterns symbolize everything from hope and happiness to mourning and love. People go there to let go of certain things in their life and to put their dreams and aspirations into the universe. It’s a beautiful and emotional event and the best part of it is when everyone lets their lanterns go in unison. It shows you how powerful we can all be when working together.
