I’ll never forget this one year, I was probably about 12 and going into the 7th grade and my cousin took my sister and I back to school shopping.  My mom gave us $100 each and I thought I was rich.  I obviously went straight to Limited Too because it was the coolest and most fashionable store ever, duh!  $100 did not go very far, BUT I do remember buying this leopard print beret and a leopard print dress (not to be worn together).

This had to be the moment where my obsession with animal print and especially with hats began.  Every year I hear (in a very newscaster voice), “…and Animal Prints are IN this season…” and I ask myself, when were they ever out?  Now I do not support animal overload and I would never wear anything that resembled zebra but I think a good print (leopard, cheetah, whatever…) is a great staple and can be used a neutral base.  If you want to wear more than one animal print at a time, I would suggest staying in the same color family but mixing prints and fabrics like I did here.  I purchased this purse a few years ago but pony hair is everywhere this season and I think a pony hair animal print purse could be your perfect statement piece.
