Velvet is my favorite Holiday trend. The rich texture makes every piece feel so luxe and chic! Whether you’re wearing a jumpsuit, a casual dress, or trousers, velvet is the ultimate Holiday essential.
I recently collaborated on a Holiday shoot with two of my girlfriends and without any prior planning, we all showed up with velvet. It worked out perfectly because I had a Jumpsuit, Ashley had these awesome Pants and Caroline showed up with the cutest Dress. 3 different women, 3 different body types, 3 different styles, 1 trend in common: velvet.

I hope our Holiday shoot inspired you to add some luxe fabrics into your wardrobe!! Remember that although our looks are dressed up, velvet doesn’t have to be dressy. You can wear it dressed down with jeans and make feel holiday inpsired but staying true to your casual style. The best way to incorporate the trend if you don’t want to go all out is with accessories and tops.
For my curvier ladies, when shopping this trend, opt for pieces that have details like ruching to or waist ties to accentuate and flatter a thicker figure.
For Petite ladies, look for streamlined pieces like long pants similar to what Ashley is wearing or for dresses that have high slits to accentuate and elongate your legs.
