Bomber jackets have been in out of men’s closets since the mid 20th century. You probably first saw them on Tom Cruise, mid-flight, styled with aviators. Now, you will see them on every third guy walking around your neighborhood, at least in LA.
I love bomber jackets because there are countless versions of them so 1) every guy can find the right style for himself and 2) I find most of my clients struggle with finding a great lightweight jacket that they can throw over everything and a bomber is a great option. I especially love the Alpha Industries jacket Josh is wearing in the photos above. It’s a great weight and with just enough detailing that it still looks simple and classic but has an added “cool factor”.
Although this is definitely a style you can dress up depending on the jacket you have, my favorite way to see a bomber jacket styled is casually.

I am all about a slim fitting jacket but the bomber jacket is not supposed to be very tapered. Most importantly, find one that fits comfortable in your shoulders and back.
