5 ways I stay healthy

1. Working out

I believe that working out and being healthy go hand in hand. I try to be active for at least 30 minutes a day, even if it’s just a 30-minute walk. Staying active is not only important for your physical well being but also your mental health.

2. Eating right

Let’s be honest, I think about food all the time! I’m Greek! It’s part of my culture. I will speak to my mom at 9am and she asks me what I am cooking for dinner, haha. I love eating and sometimes I indulge in food that isn’t necessarily healthy for me (aka In-n-Out & Ice Cream), I try to abide by the 80/20 rule where I eat healthy 80% of the time. I also started incorporating juices and kombucha into my lifestyle. My favorite brand is Evolution Fresh! I like juices because they are refreshing and help me get my fruit and veggie intake. 3. Involving my Friends

When it comes to being healthy I think it’s so important to surround yourself with people that want to support your healthy lifestyle. I try to involve my friends by asking them to join me for workout classes or hikes or ask them to go out for a healthy lunch instead of a night on the town. Making these simple choices will help you maintain a healthy lifestyle while keeping yourself and other’s motivated.

4. Preparing myself for travel

I am very fortunate that I get to travel quite often, and while I am so thankful for all of my experiences, traveling can definitely take a toll on a healthy lifestyle…

…unless you are prepared!

I bring workout bands with me when I am on the road so if I can’t make it to a gym or a class, I can at least workout in my hotel room. I also plan ahead and look for healthy restaurants where I will be vacationing! In addition, I make sure to pack healthy snacks like juices or my favorite protein bars so I have options in a pinch and don’t resort to fast food.

5. Follow motivating accounts on social media

Social media can be a very negative space or positive space depending on who you follow. I love to follow accounts that inspire me! Specifically when it comes to health and wellness, I look for female accounts that a) inspire me to eat healthier, b) inspire me to workout more often, or c) exude confidence and positive energy!

Melisfit — Melissa is a friend of mine and such an inspiration! She is yoga obsessed and shares so many yoga and posture tips and is just an overall ray of sunshie.

MeowMix — Amanda is a “nutritonal guru” and shares tips on healthy eating and so much nutritional information. Her account is so educational and always makes me think twice about what I am putting in my body!

RaeannLangas — Raeann is another friend of mine. She is a body positive blogger and a curve model and she always exudes confidence and positivity.
